New Digi Stamps and Some Changes

Well, hello there! Long time, no see, huh? I had a wonderful, restful break, and I was really able to do some thinking and soul searching. After a lot of thought, I've decided to do things here at Pretty Cute Stamps a little differently from now on. Before I tell you about the changes, I'd like to share the reason I'm changing things up. So, here it goes...I'm going to be real with you, right now. (If you also love Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons, you've heard some of this before).

When I started designing craft supplies (cutting files), it was a complete career change for me. I went from teaching elementary school full time and going to graduate school to staying home and figuring out how to turn my drawings into cutting files (because of a family move and change in our situation). I was passionate about paper crafting, and I loved every minute that I was designing. Then I got the chance to turn those drawings into stamps, and another piece of my career puzzle fell into place. It all was really was a dream come true.

Fast forward to now...almost 5 years later...and my dreams have changed a bit. I still love to draw and create art, but my heart and interests have really started to shift. I'm super excited right now because I'm learning new ways to draw and I'm using those drawings to create acrylic, watercolor, and digital paintings and illustrations. I'm taking classes and absolutely loving every minute of them. I'd love to turn this new passion into something more...I'm just not quite sure what that means, just yet. So, I'm sure you can imagine that a lot of my time has been taken up by these new interests. It's really all I can think about...which is an exciting thing, especially since I've been struggling over the past couple of years with bouts of something pretty close to depression. I just wasn't myself...I was withering away. But, now I'm back, and feeling fresh and happy and excited again. So, I have to follow my heart on this one and really invest my time in these new interests. That's really best for everyone...my family, my friends, and, of course, me.

So, here's how things are going to change. I still want to create digital stamps, but I also want to have plenty of time to learn and practice my new passion. So, I will no longer be having official monthly stamp releases. I'll be adding new stamps to my store semi-regularly...just not as many as before. Several members of my awesome Design Team have decided to stick with me, so they will be sharing projects with you...just not everyday, like before. And, we won't be having regular challenges and blog hops. We might do one now and again, just for fun, but not on a scheduled basis. So, that's it...I hope you understand. I feel that all of us have had times when we find a new passion and just can't stop thinking about it...so much so that it turns into new goals and dreams. So I hope you're with me in thinking that I should go for it.

So, today, I have a few new digi stamps for you. I got on a roll and made more than I had originally planned for February, but that's a good thing, huh? You can find all of these new stamp sets in the Pretty Cute Stamps Store HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful week!

Mouse Happy Birthday Card!

Hi there crafty friends! Karla popping by today to share this cute mouse birthday card from a party that my 4 year old went to last month! This adorable little mouse holding a cupcake is the Mouse Birthday digital stamp. I printed her out on white cardstock and coloured her in with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers.

I used my Cricut to cut out the scalloped circle and cut around the digi image with a circle cutter before layering the image on my background BoBunny papers. I use the PCS Birthday Elephant digital stamp for the presents, printing them in two different sizes and using two circle punches to cut them out. A little foam tape on some of the layers gives a bit of dimension.

Some pretty sequins and some ribbon trim added the perfect birthday touches!

Inside, I used a sentiment from Mouse Birthday, printed directly onto my pink carstock.

Here's a look at these cute stamp sets:

Hey, Ghoulfriend!

Hello everyone! It's Amber here, today I'm sharing this girly Halloween card featuring Pretty Cute Stamps My Boo Digital Stamp Set and Notes Of Praise Digital Stamp Set. These two little ghost are just to cute, I love how the set includes three different faces giving you the option to feature a different face each time.

I used one of the adorable little ghosts and the "Hey, Ghoulfriend" sentiment from the My Boo set and paired them with some stars from the Notes Of Praise set.  I opened the two images and the sentiment I wanted to use in Photoshop and created the little scene you see above. I printed my images and sentiment onto some fun ledger patterned paper, white cardstock, and purple cardstock. I fussy cut the ghosts out of the white cardstock, colored them with some Spectrum Noir Markers, add some mini goggle eyes to them, and adhered them to my patterned paper piece. I fussy cut the stars out of the purple cardstock and adhered them to my patterned paper piece just like the ghosts. Once all my fussy cut pieces were adhered to my patterned paper piece I die cut my finished scene with a 4" x 5 1/4" pierced rectangle die.

I hope you enjoyed my fun little girly Halloween card today. Thanks for visiting!

Zombie Treat Tags

Hello everyone, Tasha here with a fun Halloween treat tag project created with the Zombie digital stamp set.

The images were colored with green tones to achieve a Zombie look. I also added glitter to give some shimmer and attached them with dark brown twine.

I like giving out candy for Halloween and think these zombie images look great on the green zombie suckers. So fun!

Tags can make a simple piece of candy look festive and special. These would be awesome to give out as a class treat, use as decoration, or a Halloween party favor.
Click HERE for more information on this cute Zombie digital stamp, and many more designs in the Pretty Cute Stamps Shop.

I hope you enjoyed my Halloween project for today!

Pocket Page Camping Scrapbook Layouts!

Karla here today! Well, September is here and we've headed back to school! It's all very exciting - my daughter, Amie is in Grade 4 and loving it! I am still not quite ready to let the summer go yet though, so I've been working on scrapping some of those fun camping photos from my stash.

I used lots of adorable images from the May and June digital stamp releases from Pretty Cute Stamps, along with Simple Stories Summer Vibes papers and journaling cards and some fun sequins - slipped them in some pocket pages and now they're ready to place in my album!

Whenever I get new digital stamp images I open them in a word processing program and make a printable sheet that I have all ready to print onto white cardstock as many times as I need. Whenever I have a few extra minutes I grab my alcohol based markers and colour them up and cut them out. Now they're ready to use directly on my photos or journaling cards, similar to a sticker! I added this cute beaver from the Beavers Digital Stamp set right on the Simple Stories card and added a fun sequin for shine!

I sponged on a bit of Distress Ink around the edges of my sentiments from the Summer Fun and Summer Memories sets before adding them to my pages, and below I layered on this adorable lantern from the Shine Bright Digital Stamp set and a few more sequins before hand writing my journaling. I hand cut some of the images from the Simple Stories collection to layer in my pocket elements as well.

For my second page I had some fun food and s'mores pics - and couldn't wait to use these adorable images from the S'mores and S'mores Sentiments Digital Stamp sets!

Of course, you have to have a campfire to roast your marshmallows, and this cute little fire from the Light My Fire set was just the right thing!

I actually printed my sentiments from Happy Camper Sentiments and S'mores Sentiments directly on the woodgrain journaling cards by printing them first on white paper and then taping them down in place over the area I had already printed on so I could line them up how I wanted them. These cute little hearts from the Beavers set added another sweet embellishment. I love how cute the S'mores look inside this coordinating Simple Stories frame!
